Description
Suicide Bereavement Facilitator
REF: NWM:524
Hours: Part-time role, 22.5 hours per week - 3 days, with Wednesday as a mandatory core day. Other days to be confirmed.
Starting Salary: £26,292 per annum rising to £27,835 after 6-month probation. Salary will be pro rata for part time hours.
Location: This is a Hybrid role where you will work remotely from home, in the community covering the South Norfolk area. REST Thetford will be your base.
*Due to the nature of the role a driver licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role, mileage is paid at 45p per mile for cars after your home to work base mileage is deducted.
The Role
We are recruiting a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our Suicide Bereavement Service as a Suicide Bereavement Facilitator. This vital role has been created in response to the significant need for immediate support for those bereaved by suicide in Norfolk and Waveney.
You will be responsible for reaching out to individuals within 2 working days of a referral and providing them with emotional and practical support as they navigate the complexities of grief following a suicide. The service is available to anyone who has experienced a suicide loss within 3 months of bereavement or before the inquest is held.
In addition to one-on-one support, you will facilitate suicide bereavement groups, using an industry-leading framework developed by our service to help those affected by suicide share experiences, find solidarity, and begin their healing journey.
Skills and Experience:
A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting individuals
Experience in facilitating group support or therapeutic sessions (desirable)
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
Knowledge of grief, bereavement, and suicide-related trauma (desirable)
A proactive, solution-focused approach to service delivery
