Description
Job Purpose:
I am an active minded gentleman recovering from stroke that I had 11 years ago. Due to this I am predominantly wheelchair dependent but can walk a few yards with a walking stick. I am looking to add another Personal Assistant to my small care team. You would be supporting me to access the Therapy Gym on Wednesday mornings and assist me with any personal care as needed while we are there. If the gym is closed, you would help me with completing my activities at home. Those could include but are not limited to preparing snacks, helping me to complete my physiotherapy exercises, accompanying me to my home workshop and supporting me with personal care (such as toileting and changing clothes for example.) You would also need to be able to cover of other team member absences as and when necessary.
You will need to be a sociable person, and although I am not very communicative, I enjoy sharing ideas and reading. Due to the brain injury my cognitive abilities sometimes make it difficult for me to understand, so you will need to speak clearly and check that I can understand.
