Description
The Housekeeper ensures a high standard of cleanliness throughout The Coach House Residential Home, maintaining tidy communal areas, residents' rooms, and coordinating domestic staff. They must be professional, self-motivated, reliable, and sensitive to residents' needs. The role involves flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Key Requirements:
Essential Skills: Teamwork, effective communication, time management, and satisfactory DBS clearance.
Desired Skills: Previous cleaning experience in a care home and knowledge of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit.

Job Duties:
Cleaning Responsibilities
Maintain daily cleanliness of lounges, dining areas, corridors, bathrooms, and residents' rooms.
Conduct deep cleaning (spring cleaning) of residents' rooms, including cleaning under beds, behind furniture, and high dusting.
Ensure dining areas and communal spaces are clean and hygienic.
Perform tasks like washing floors, emptying bins, and removing cobwebs.
Restock toiletries and polish mirrors.
Maintain cleaning audits and sign daily records.
Health and Safety:
Adhere to health and safety policies, including COSHH and infection control.
Use cleaning equipment and solutions safely, ensuring correct disinfection methods and PPE usage.
Maintain cleaning equipment in working order and report faults promptly.
Follow infection control guidelines for handling soiled items.
Communication:
Participate in staff meetings and training.
Maintain open communication with the team and management.
Confidentiality:
Protect residents' personal information in line with GDPR and related regulations.
Avoid using mobile phones while on duty to maintain focus and professionalism.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to body fluids and verbal aggression.
Physical demands such as pushing equipment and standing for extended periods.
