Hours Part Time - 30 hours per week - Monday - Thursday (9am - 5pm) - days negotiable

Fixed Term Contract - Maternity cover 9 - 12 months

​Salary Starting salary £24,891 per annum rising to £25,691 after 6 month probation. Salary quoted is for full time hours, salary will be pro rata for part time hours.

​Location REST Churchman House, 71 Bethel St, Norwich NR2 1NR - Parking available onsite. You will be required to travel to appointments in and around the Norfolk area.

​*Due to the nature of the role a driver licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role, mileage is paid at 45p per mile for cars after your home to work base mileage is deducted.

​The Service
​This is an exciting time to join Mind and become part of the partnership with the Norfolk & Suffolk Mental Health Foundation Trust delivering services within the provision of the Norfolk and Waveney Psych Liaison Service. The service is commissioned to help people over 18 who are medically fit for discharge by the hospital, however still may be at a greater risk.

​​The successful candidate will be required and willing to work alone and, in a team, with the ability to travel with a full UK Driving Licence around providing community and home-based support.

​The post holder will work across Norwich, in addition covering the West and East areas if the service is in demand. The Psych Liaison Support Worker role will consist of providing a person-centred approach to service users who are referred into our service from the three hospitals (Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, James Paget University Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital following an A&E admission.

​The role will provide a 2 to 12-week tailored support service to patients that have been referred into the Psych Liaison Service. The role will consist in the Psych Liaison Support Worker supporting the service user within a community setting to aid their recovery journey, whilst engaging with external organisations, when required.


​What We Are Looking For

• Personal lived experience of accessing mental health services and psychological distress and interventions that helped recovery OR experience of supporting someone within this situation.

​• A person-centred individual

​• Knowledge of mental health conditions.

​• Knowledge of external and supportive mental health and wellbeing organisations

​• Working with clients in a community-based setting.

​• Understanding of any relevant legislation associated with the role.

​• Desirable skills (not essential) include effective caseload management and experience of working within health or social care organisation providing mental health support.
