Description

​Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week, worked flexibly to meet the needs of the service, to include some evenings and weekends

On-Call Duty:
This role requires participation in an on-call duty rota, where you will be available to respond to urgent issues outside of regular working hours. Flexibility is essential, the on-call rota will operate in a rolling 6-week schedule, and the employee will be on-call for one week within each 6-week period, although this may be more frequently depending on availability of employees.

Starting Salary: £26,292 per annum, rising to £27,835 after 6-month probation.

The Service
​Birch Tree House aims to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative alternative to acute mental health hospital admission for people with issues that may affect their mental health.

The short stay recovery house will support and provide interventions in the least restrictive environment consistent with people's health and social care, and safety needs. Equity of access to an alternative to admission for people is ensured.

Who is Birch Street House for?
The Crisis House is available to people registered with a Norfolk and Waveney GP practice, or living within the STP footprint if the person has no fixed abode. There is a single point of access into this service via Central Crisis Resolution Home Treatment (CRHT) Team.

We provide a safe space for up to five Nights and give support to individual's experiencing a mental health crisis but do not require a formal admission to hospital.​

What we are looking for
​The post holder will take the lead in the absence of the manager of a 24-hour crisis intervention and support service to people who are experiencing a psychiatric and or psychosocial crisis but do not require a hospital admission. You will effectively lead the Short Stay Recovery House team to provide an effective range of short-term intensive interventions to reduce the experience of crisis.

​You will assist the Service Manager with assessing referrals received by the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHT) within agreed timeframe.

​We are looking for:

​Experienced Team Leader / supervisor, who has previously worked in a supported living environment.

​Someone who has worked with complex needs who may be difficult to engage with.

​Experience of leading a team

​Ability to provide effective advice and guidance

​Experience of multi-agency working

​Has emotional resilience to manage change and processes.

​Passionate about and committed to the empowerment of people who are experiencing mental health distress
