Description

As a Regional Medication Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting best practices in medication management across our organisation. Reporting to the Regional Manager and Learning & Development, you'll be responsible for monitoring and improving medication safety standards, while driving initiatives to reduce medication-related risks.


You'll work closely with Registered Managers, local pharmacy teams, and regional safety groups to ensure compliance, resolve medication-related issues, and foster a culture of excellence and trust.

Key Responsibilities


Deliver a Personal Approach:
Collect and review monthly MAR charts from service users' homes.
Provide timely support to Registered Managers to meet regulatory standards.
Actively participate in local and regional safety groups.


Maintain Professional Excellence:
Oversee updates and changes to medications, ensuring accurate communication to care teams via digital records.
Serve as the key liaison with pharmacies and stakeholders to manage and escalate medication-related issues.

Empower Trust:
Ensure the safe administration of medications, minimising harm and ensuring accurate recording of medication needs.
Lead incident reporting on medication issues, analysing trends and sharing insights to improve practices.

Champion Change:
Drive improvements in medication recording in Home Care services.
Implement initiatives to enhance medication management and improve staff competence in handling medication safely.
Be a key player in continuous improvement efforts within the organisation.

Proven experience in medication management, ideally within a care setting.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
A proactive and solutions-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
Competence in using digital records and a keen eye for detail.
A strong team player who can empower others and influence positive change.
