Attleborough Day Centre has been established since 1994 and was purpose built with day care in mind. We benefit from comfortable bright lounge and dining areas, a fully equipped kitchen and easy to access toilet facilities. We are situated in the centre of Attleborough allowing our service users to benefit from being able to access the local shops. We are open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 51 weeks of the year (excluding bank holidays). We also offer a hot meal lunch delivery service Monday to Friday. The Centre is run by a Management Committee drawn from the local community. Our Centre is open to, and provides a meeting place, for older people who may be living alone or are socially isolated, who may require a high level of support from their family or carers, who may be physically frail or disabled, with dementia, mild learning disability or mild mental health problems and who are in need of support and social stimulation. We aim to challenge the traditional idea of a Day Centre and offer a friendly and welcoming environment for you to come and make new friends, get involved in activities that interest you, have a freshly prepared hot lunch and have a break from home. Our aim is to help older people make the most of life in later years, to help maintain independence and give carers a much needed break. Come and visit us. We can offer a free trial day or half day for you to see if the Centre suits you. If you are unsure whether the centre is suitable for you, please contact the day centre manager for an informal chat. The Day Centre provides opportunities for the older person to become and stay physically, mentally and socially active. Our aim is to support users of the service to maintain and improve their independence and well-being, enabling them to remain living at home. We provide the opportunity to have regular social contact and get more involved in community life at the same time providing carers and families with much needed respite. Service users are able to take advantage of a range of activities on offer making their time at the centre as stimulating and enjoyable as possible. We aim to provide a friendly and professional service. Our standards are driven by Norfolk County Council's service specification for day care and the Care Quality Commission's 'Essential standards of quality and safety'. Since re-opening in June, the Centre has carried out a Covid risk assessment and is Covid secure.
